I am not looking forward to this.
Donald Trump told reporters in Iowa on Sunday that his policy statement on taxes will be out in a few days. Who knows the system better than me?, he said.
I expect his authoritarian side to really show in this policy statement. I expect a lot of shifting and elimination of deductions, but there is no chance of serious tax cuts.
I hope to be surprised by proposed serious tax cuts, but I don't think it will happen. He'll talk about making forms simpler.

Always forgotten is that we thrived as a country without an income tax for 120 years. And then we got the 16th Amendment (and the Fed). The government has grown like a cancer, our currency is toilet paper, and the country is hopelessly insolvent.
ReplyDeleteWhen was the last time we had a front-running candidate for president who recognized this fact and advocated for a return to the policies that made America great? [crickets chirping]
We don't need another tax reform plan. Changing the rate at which theft occurs does not make it moral or workable. Repeal the 16th Amendment, abolish the IRS, and take a meat cleaver to the budget.
