It would be great to see that graph vs. historical events that would have driven up the inflation. I see the Civil War, War of 1812, Revolutionary War, etc. During typical prosperous peaceful times however it looks like deflation (until 1913 of course...)

ReplyDeleteAre we talking money supply or prices? Credit contracted in 2008. Credit is the biggest component of the money supply.
