Trump Says He will get Apple to 'Start Building Their Damn Computers and Things' in the US
Further indication that Donald Trump is a neanderthal thinker when it comes to trade ( See: The Hayekian Explanation for Why We Beat Out Neanderthals).
Speaking at Liberty University on Monday, Trump escalated his rhetoric on Apple's overseas manufacturing, and claimed somehow the US would reclaim those jobs in the future, reports The Verge. "We have such amazing people in this country: smart, sharp, energetic, they're amazing," Trump said. "I was saying make America great again, and I actually think we can say now, and I really believe this, we're gonna get things coming... we're gonna get Apple to start building their damn computers and things in this country, instead of in other countries."

Great. Now Apple products will be even more expensive.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he means he will get them to because he is going to end taxation and regulation? That's a great idea Donald. But, I doubt it.
ReplyDeleteJoshua, I hope you're right. I listened to the speech on the Ipad yesterday. I dont have a transcript or the entire thing but do remember him making at least some reference to taxation and regulatory issues that force these companies off shore. So which is it? The Libertarian Trump or the Authoritarian Trump? Whos knows?
