The Australian minimum wage is misleading (as are the memes that fly around regarding it). Australia has two different minimum wages -- one for adults, and one for teenagers which is significantly lower (and in line with U.S. minimum wage).

Maybe Gov. Moonbeam could get Mexico to raise their min-wage to a morally satisfying $15/hour. The Mexicans would cheer, right?
