DEEP Trump Picks Rex Tillerson, Exxon CEO to be Secretary of State

President-elect Donald J. Trump has settled on Rex W. Tillerson, the chief executive of Exxon Mobil, to be his secretary of state, transition officials said, reports The New York Times.

More from The Times:
In naming him, the president-elect is dismissing bipartisan concerns that Mr. Tillerson, the globe-trotting leader of an energy giant, has a too-cozy relationship with Vladimir V. Putin, the president of Russia.
There is something very deep going on here that MSM has not quite put its finger on: A developing U.S.-Russian oil alliance.

If I am a Middle East oil producer, I am very concerned right now.

Not a coincidence (via NPR)
Corporate registrations in Delaware show that President-elect Donald Trump shut down some of his companies in the days after the election, including four companies that appeared connected to a possible Saudi Arabia business venture.

  1. As a EPJ Alert subscriber, I am hoping we can trade off of this. I'm sure you have something cooking up.

  2. USA+Russia may be a concern to China as well. Russian & US people have more in common than either with China. Russians & US citizens can much easier work in or seek citizenship in the other country than either in China. To non-Chinese, China has a "You will never be Chinese" attitude.

  3. Seems to me that a cozy relationship with Russia would be a good thing. That is unless your goal is to rule the world and Russia is getting in the way. Why try to recreate a new cold war after the end of that rotten era? Gorbachev must be growing quite annoyed at what is going on now.

I for one am SICK AND TIRED of the west crying about Russia. We can't keep our massive military busy enough in these skirmishes in the middle east. The neocons apparently need a bigger opponent.

  4. Wenzel is growing more hysterical by the day. They cry loudly whenever their limited worldview runs up against the realities of the world we live in. Wenzel, tell us how close relationship with Russia is a bad thing? How is it advantageous to continue to fund the Saudi Royalty, which funds radical muslims and turns them against the west, is a good thing? Oh, and don't say "free markets" or some crap like that, because the saudi oil kingdom is anything but.
