Success and Persistence

Meghan Markle, a star of the television drama “Suits” who is now dating Prince Harry, didn't always have a royal life.

According to the New York Post, she told this story of her early days in Hollywood:
This epic day happened where the locks [on her Ford Explorer] stopped opening with the key. And the clicker wouldn’t open the front doors and I couldn’t afford to fix this car and this was how I got from one audition to the other,. So what I would start to do is literally go to these auditions, park at the back of the parking lot and I would open my trunk … and crawl into the back of my car to the front seat to drive off to my next audition. This, by the way, went on for five months.
Lesson of the Day: Don't let obstacles get in your way. Not even locked doors.

  1. Ah the starving artist. I've seen this up close and personal. It cracks me up when they can't afford to fix their car or healthy food but can afford their cigarettes and cable TV.

  2. So success is had by needlessly living with problems instead of learning how to fix them yourself at little or no cost? Guess I've been doing it wrong my whole life.

  3. Don't believe it for a moment. She is so good looking she has never lacked male attention and support. She could have someone driving her to auditions with minimal effort.

Also, can;t you simply unlock your car with the key instead of using the transmitter? Unless she had a very very new luxury car, it came with a key. Every car I have ever owned had a key and it worked to unlock the door.

    1. She said the key locks no longer unlocked the doors. This means the linkage has come apart so the cylinder is no longer attached to the mechanism. It's a very simple and cheap/free thing to repair most of the time if you do it yourself.

  4. Wow you people can't just appreciate a hard work story. Stay salty.
