Should Economists Downplay Competition?

This is a good one.

Paul H. Rubin , the Samuel Candler Dobbs Professor of Economics at Emory University and past President of the Southern Economic Association, this week delivered the The F.A. Hayek Memorial Lecture at the Austrian Economics Research Conference at the Mises Institute in Auburn, Alabama.

He titled his lecture, "How We Talk About Economics and Why It Matters." If you are interested in getting the free market message across, you need to watch this.

His point, by the way, dovetails with my recent short comment:
[T]he now hip Silicon Valley phrase "market disruption," when looked at from the market as a whole,... is [really] better market coordination rather than disruption.
