OMG Paging Walter Block

The cronies are going to party this week.

Is there a publicly traded champagne producer that I can buy stock in?

Gary Cohn, former Goldman Sachs president and current director of the President Trumps National Economic Council, says the President is going to formally launch his infrastructure initiative this week.

According to Bloomberg, Trump plans to travel to Ohio to garner support for his plan to channel $1 TRILLION into the nation’s roads, bridges, inland waterways and other public facilities.

“We know that in many of these areas we’re falling behind, and the falling behind is affecting economic growth in the United States,’’ Cohn said on a call with reporters. “The president wants to fix the problems, and he doesn’t want to push these liabilities into the future.’’

This is all you need to know: Government infrastructure spending is the shoveling of money to the crony elite that is close to those in power.

There is an alternative. Read Walter Block:

  1. And some of it might actually go to ... you know ... actual infrastructure.

  2. I have a vague recollection that the government-funded roads are built suboptimally on purpose so that the construction companies can keep, getting contracts to repair the roads, but that there are ways to build roads that would have a longer life-span.
