REPORT Trump Wants CNN's Zucker Fired Before ATT is Cleared to Acquire TimeWarner

The White House does not support the pending acquisition of TimeWarner by AT&T if CNN, a TimeWarner company, does not fire the president of CNN, Jeff Zucker, a source familiar with President Trump’s thinking told The Daily Caller.

The New York Times similarly reported that “White House advisers have discussed” the acquisition as being a “potential point of leverage over their adversary” CNN.

Talk about fascist-style meddling. CNN puts out a lot of nonsense about Russian collusion with Trump and has Deep State connections, both of which should be attacked by the private sector, but for a government to muscle a private corporation like this is a total Banana Republic action.

First, they muscled CNN.

  1. Maybe Zucker has played his part and is done or maybe he wants out? Trump and Zucker go way back and have made billions together. If played right, this might be a golden parachute type deal. Nothing is what it seems...

  2. But this is how it has worked for many decades now. Economic fascism was cemented in the USA in the 1930s. But now because of Trump apparently it's socially acceptable to call it what it is. That's the difference.

  3. Although I agree in spirit, RW, watching CNN be smeared and marked for execution doesn't make me want to run out and defend them.

  4. Robert,

This is very similar to when Nixon and Chuck Colson tried to prevent the Washington Post from having their TV licenses renewed by the FCC to pressure Katherine Graham to back off criticism of Nixon.

Trump is so Nixonian, I am almost waiting one day for Trump to rip off the mask and find out its really Nixon back from the dead.

  5. I see this as government vs government. CNN is just an extension of the Democratic Party at this point.

  6. "a source familiar with President Trump’s thinking told The Daily Caller" - Yea, huh.

I am supposed to believe that? I'd just as well believe that a burning bush spoke to Moses than the source referred to above. Only Donald Trump knows what he is thinking. All else is the sheerest speculation.
