Ron Paul for Fed Governor |
A missed opportunity by President Trump?
He has basically nominated mainstream Keynesian monetarists to the Federal Reserve Board.
But Kenneth Rogoff, Professor of Economics and Public Policy at Harvard University and no anti-Fedite. writes:
[B]y and large, the Senate has given Trump what he wants, and many Republicans would have embraced a disrupter – for example, a disciple of Ron “End the Fed” Paul – or another conservative preaching a return to the pre-World War I gold standard.Maybe a pro-gold standard nominee would have not received enough votes to be confirmed by the Senate but
it would have raised the gold-standard debate in the consciousness of the masses.
If the Marvin Goodfriend nomination fails to make it out of the Senate, and I hope it does fail, I propose that Trump nominate Ron Paul to the Fed.

Two Thumbs Up for that!
