Thomas Schaefer |
Thomas Schaefer, 54, minister for the wealthy Hesse region of Germany, was found dead on railway tracks at Hochhein, near Frankfurt, on Saturday.
Authorities said Schaefer appeared to have killed himself.
State Governor Volker Bouffier said that Schaefer was worried about "'whether it would be possible to succeed in fulfilling the population's huge expectations, particularly of financial help: amid the coronavirus crisis.
"I have to assume that these worries overwhelmed him," Bouffier said. "He apparently couldn't find a way out. He was in despair and left us."
Schaefer was clearly a man too decent and too honorable for his own good amidst a sea of totalitarians and money printing madmen.
He surely must have understood that you can't shut down the economy of a country and just make up for it by printing money.
He understood the dire price inflationary consequences. It was too much for him.

Turns out he was also public about his belief that Epstein didn't kill himself.
