HOPE FOR THE ECONOMY: It's Good to See Larry Kudlow in Front of the Cameras Again

Larry Kudlow
White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow on Monday warned against an extended shutdown of the U.S. economy in response to the coronavirus outbreak, arguing that the economic cost would be just "too great," reports The Hill.

Kudlow made the remarks just a day after President Trump suggested that he might lift social distancing restrictions designed to slow the spread of the disease if the economic burden became too high.

"WE CANNOT LET THE CURE BE WORSE THAN THE PROBLEM ITSELF," Trump tweeted.

Asked on Fox News about Trump's comments, Kudlow echoed the president, saying the "cure can’t be worse than the disease."

"We can’t shut in the economy. The economic cost to individuals is just too great," he said. "So, let’s see how this thing plays out. More testing is essential, and we’re loading up with tests now; that’s going to be a big help."

He added that the U.S. is "going to have to make some difficult trade-offs" as it assesses the economic impact of the response to the outbreak.

"I don’t want to get ahead of the story," he said. "I spoke to the president about this very subject late last evening. So we’ll be looking at a number of different things. Let’s give it another week at some point."

Kudlow, unlike Trump's medical team, understands the nature of trade-offs versus bizarre absolutes.

With Kudlow in Trump's ear and no doubt many of Trump's businessmen pals, we may be seeing a shift away from Tony Fauci destroy the economy policy.

Especially after it has been revealed that Fauci is a Hillary Clinton hugger.

And the evil doctor gave an interview to Science magazine where he made the president out to be a liar and incompetent---other than when he is taking the advice of Fauci.

In the interview which was published Sunday he was asked how he responds to falsehoods from the President during press conferences, Fauci said, "I can't jump in front of the microphone and push him down," according to the interview.

"OK, he said it. Let's try and get it corrected for the next time," Fauci said.

"I'm sort of exhausted," Fauci said in the interview. "But other than that, I'm good. I mean, I'm not, to my knowledge, coronavirus infected. To my knowledge, I haven't been fired."

While Fauci said he and the President "disagree on some things," he described Trump as responsive: "He goes his own way. He has his own style. But on substantive issues, he does listen to what I say."

Let's hope Trump does to Fauci what he does to other people who act like this: Show them those big White Doors.

At this delicate hour, Kudlow is the man who can save the economy with his guidance.

  1. People need to speak out. The non sense is winning right now. Small businesses are losing fast.

  2. I know the POTUS has the bully pulpit but isn’t it the jurisdiction of mayors of incorporated cities and state governors for non-incorporated parts of each state to dictate what is an emergency and the actions within those jurisdictions during an emergency?
