Target is Raising Its Starting Wage to $15 an Hour
It's on: wage and price inflation.
Target is raising its starting wage to $15 an hour, making it the first major retailer to permanently increase pay during the pandemic, reports The Washington Post.
The company, which previously had a starting hourly wage of $13, has been offering workers an extra $2 per hour in “hazard pay” since March 25, two weeks after the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus outbreak a global pandemic. This morning, it said it would make that pay increase permanent.
The wage increase goes into effect on July 5 and will affect approximately 275,000 workers,
Note: You don't raise wages if you are expecting deflation, you raise wages because there is increasing demand for workers.

Short Target. Otherwise, that's their problem.
