On Stephanie Kelton's "The Deficit Myth"

 Richard Ahong emails:

Hello Mr. Wenzel:

I am Richard.  I saw Stephanie Kelton's interview on Canadian TV and her views on the deficit in Canada.

I want to read her book "The Deficit Myth".  What is your opinion or stand on her modern monetary theory so I can have an open mind when I read her book.  Are her views plausible?

Your response is much appreciated.

Sincerely,

Richard Ahong

As far as I am concerned, Kelton has a complete lack of understanding of economic fundamentals. She is a Keynesian on steroids with a few additional preposterous claims throw-in.

I wrote a response to her book: Problems With Modern Monetary Theory: A Comment on Stephanie Kelton’s "The Deficit Myth".

But, by all means, read her book and my response and judge for yourself.

  1. Is it theft to seek out a "complimentary" digital copy if its author is a proponent of central bank money printing?
