Zandi is simply bizarre. It looks like key Republicans consider Zandi an Obama weak spot.
So, Obama's favorite media projector of false economic data -- the hack Mark Zandi -- covers his ass on his earlier support for Obama's desperation "Jobs Act" by saying now that he believes the bill, if passed in its entirety by the end of this year (fat chance), provides a temporary boost in employment but only if there is no double dip. Then jobs disappear, again.
Zandi recalculated the bill's impact now that Obama's permanent tax increases (to pay for a temporary boost) are public but stops short of saying, "oops, I screwed up."
Note to journalists: want to distinguish yourself? Go expose Zandi.
Key excerpt:
Zandi said his job-creation figure only applies to 2012.
"Beginning in 2013, and certainly into 2014, the plan is a drag on the economy because the stimulus starts fading away," he said. "So by 2015, the economy is in the same place as now, as if there were no jobs package."
Also, Zandi said, his forecast does not leave any room for a new recession. If that happens, all bets are off.
Of course, I have been on the scent of Zandi for sometime, most recently, here.
