Orrin Hatch Says He Will Punch Libertarians in the Mouth

Utah Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch is “doggone offended” by the activists and voters standing between him and re-election, describing them as “radical libertarians,” reports The Daily Caller.

Hatch told NPR’s Howard Berkes, “These people are not conservatives. They’re not Republicans.”

“They’re radical libertarians and I’m doggone offended by it,” he said.

“I despise these people,” Hatch added, “and I’m not the guy you come in and dump on without getting punched in the mouth.”

If Hatch can secure 60 percent of the April 21 state convention vote, reports DC, he would avoid a primary election. If he can not, the top two convention vote-getters will advance to a June primary.

  1. I don't think Hatch actually understands how elections are supposed to work.

  5. I went through campaign donations by Carlyle Group employees. While they covered key leaders for both the Red and Blue political teams, Orin Hatch was nearly universal for Red.

Carlyle Group associates know where to place their political bets for leverage.

  7. How dare these people promote freedom! After all, the Founding Fathers were hellbent on banning hemp, taxing income, providing monthly payments and free medical care to the elderly, and invading and occupying the Mideast.

  9. Wasn't Hatch the Senator trying to get rid of the requirement that POTUS had to be a US citizen?

  10. I doubt that Mr. Hatch has lifted anything heavier than a gold plated pen during his tenure in the Senate. It would be surprising were he to have the physical strength to punch his way out of a wet paper bag. Mr. Hatch ought to have retired years ago. Hopefully the voters of Utah will have the good sense to bid him farewell.
