EARLY SPECULATION: Who Will Trump Pick As Fed Chair to Replace Yellen?

Standish Chief Economist Vincent Reinhart discusses in the clip below the possible Federal Reserve appointments under a Trump administration. Current Fed Chair Janet Yellen's term as Fed chair expires on February 1, 2018, a little more than a year from now.

Reinhart is correct that the early names bandied about to replace Yellen are all pretty traditional thinking mainstream economists who see no problem with the Federal Reserve manipulating interest rates, though they are a bit more conservative on specific money printing targets---which could trigger a recession.

Reinhart is also correct that speculation about the next Fed chair will start to heat up in about 3 months or so.

There is nothing here, though, for the End the Fed crowd.

Trump is not going to end the Fed or come close to even attempting it.
