kaChing Goes Kaching

Long time EPJ readers know I have long been a big fan of kaChing. I think it will revolutinize the client/invesment adviser relationship. It will be great for independent traders and investment advisers with talent and help them to attract new clients. It won't be so good for mutula funds. I first wrote it up back in April.

kaChing founder Dan Carroll emailed me earlier this week:
Big day for us today Robert...we launched today...a new way to invest and compelling alternative to mutual funds. Customers can for the first time go online, find the most talented investors, and mirror the trades in their own brokerage account. We are pretty pumped for the release of our business and new look and feel!

I really think this is going to be a big time winner. Dan has invited me out to their facilities in Palo Alto,CA. So next time I am on the West Coast, I'll head over and kick the tires.

In the meantime, here's what MSM reported about kaChing, this week (Just keep in mind, you heard about it at EPJ in April.)

  1. Great post - i 'rt' or re-tweeted this post. I'm revved up for kaChing, as an underdog there (nearly 700 followers, 2000 members in the groups I created there).

Once I hit 140, I want to further establish a virtual "friends" and virtual "family" of investors. It's a band of Davids against Goliath!

  2. Thanks for the heads-up. Sounds like Marketocracy will be getting some competition.

  3. This thing is going to be interesting. Two observations 1)How does KaChing's pricing structure compare to a typical absolute return fund; and 2)One can already follow all of the big money manager's real time at GuruFocus. Can these independent traders, who are competing for funds to earn fees, out do Joel Greenblatt and John Hussman etc on a comparable cost basis? Also, for those who are interested in Greenblatt's "Magic Formula" strategy, you can model an account using same at FormulaInvesting.com.
