As reported by FireDogLake last night, a Republican senator has indeed joined Bernie Sanders in putting a hold on the confirmation for a second Ben Bernanke term.
WSJ is reporting that Sen. Jim Bunning (R., Ky.) placed the hold.
WSJ is also reporting that "Sanders appears to have racked up some campaign contributions online since announcing his Bernanke hold Wednesday night." Nothing can focus a Senator's attention like contributions.
A favorable confirmation outcome for Bernanke still seems likely, but this will make him sweat just a little more.
