This morning, Treasury Secretary Geithner convenes the President's Working Group on Financial Markets, aka, the Plunge Protection Team. at the Treasury Department. The PPT includes the Secretary of the Treasury, who serves as its chairman, and the Chairmen of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. This meeting is closed press.
In the afternoon, Secretary Geithner will meet at Treasury with Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Deputy Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, and Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, CEO and Executive Director of the Investment Corporation of Dubai.
