Geithner to Visit Arkansas

On Friday, February 4, Treasury Secretary Geithner will travel to Northwest Arkansas to meet with regional business leaders to according to the Treasury "discuss how government and the private sector can work together to out-innovate our competition and grow the economy." In actuality, it is not clear why Geithner is headed to, of all places, Arkansas.

Following a private roundtable meeting with a group of "business leaders" at the Arkansas World Trade Center, which is affiliated with the University of Arkansas, Secretary Geithner will visit the manufacturing plant and labs of NanoMech, "an innovative small business that uses nanotechnology to manufacture products with broad applications, including machining and manufacturing, lubrication and energy, and biomedical implant coatings."

  1. "Work Together"...Is Geithner stupid or just a criminal punk? It's like a Rapist asking his victim to "work together".

  2. Have you heard of Wal-Mart? It's headquartered in NW Arkansas and the University of Arkansas is one of its subsidiaries.

  3. Could have something to do with Walmart. Over the last couple of years Walmart has been "partnering" with the Federal Government on quite a few issues. Homeland security is the latest "partnership".
