The Tom Woods Kansas Problem

Over at LRC, Tom Woods writes:
For a variety of reasons we moved to Topeka, Kansas last year. If I don't meet some like-minded people soon, I am going to lose my mind. The Libertarians of Northeast Kansas, a group I've just learned about, have asked me to speak at their monthly meeting this Thursday at 7:00pm at Annie's Place (a restaurant) in Topeka. If you live in the area, I can't tell you how glad I would be to meet you
If you are in the Topeka area and have never heard Tom speak in person, don't miss the opportunity. Speakers don't come much better than Tom.

  1. Tom should move to the valley near Los Angeles and start regularly attending the Society of Libertarian Entrepreneur meetups-- social anxiety-be-gone!

  2. I've been a libertarian since 1973 living in Detroit all that time. It toughens you up.

  3. Taylor, I don't know that LA is Tom's preference. I moved to LA to get my production business up and running (I am a musician and audio engineer). Once I got a few good connections, I moved. Obviously, I cannot speak for Tom, but I don't see him as somebody that would be willing to sit in traffic for an hour just to get from the Valley to DT. Shoot, I lived in Sawtelle (just east of Bundy Rd along Santa Monica Blvd) and it would take me about an hour and a half to get to the City of Commerce. Plus, from my understanding, Tom moved to Kansas because his wife's family is there.

  4. Jaffi Joe,

All fair points. It wasn't a serious suggestion. But I do believe we have a solution for libertarians suffering from social angst and feelings of exclusion.

Too bad you moved! We would've loved to have you drop by as well.

  5. Why anybody would want to live in Kansas is beyond me. What a shithole.
