Livestream: Mass Arrest on Brooklyn Bridge of 'Occupy Wall Street' Protesters

Note: There is intermittent loss of feed. It appears there are hundreds, if not thousands, corralled by NYC police on the Brooklyn Bridge. The police appear to be arresting all those corralled, one by one.

  3. Friend of mine who was there said the police directed them onto the bridge.

somewhat related...there have been protests every day in my city(about 45 mins from nyc) because police shot an unarmed man and haven't made any statement about their motives, apolgized, etc., and this has been the general response:

  4. These protests are unfortunately much ado about nothing. They are also being filled out by the same berkley/code pink types that protested the WTO in Seattle, etc. The numbers are also too small to make a meaningful show of anything, too. The public will need to see hundreds of thousands in the streets before they START to pay attention. The public also needs to feel much more pain before it starts to ACT.

What these protests MIGHT do is inspire and motivate Tea Party types and everyday americans into protesting down the road. That's the idea anyway. Fat chance. People still haven't lost enough yet. We have no bread lines, not enough tent cities, not enough real pain. Everyone is still too comfortable and pampered to speak up publicly.

Give it a year. Let the economic wounds and pent up frustration fester and boil. Once real pain hits, and the foundation for revolt ferments some more, then we'll see what happens. Until then, everyone continues watching Dancing With The Stars and Netflix on their iPads and android phones.

  5. Hmmm, state thugs versus state-loving socialists. A pox on both their houses.

  6. Perhaps Bob Murphy could set up another "The Point" debate challenge for Roubini as he has done for Krugman...
