The Internet Interventionists are Running for Cover

Four key senators, Marco Rubio, Roy Blunt, Orrin Hatch and Jon Cornyn, abandon SOPA.

This is fun. What should we bust them on next?

  1. How about something more important, like NDAA, the Patriot act, undeclared wars, TARP, the Fed, the insolvency of social welfare programs, or the travesty of the drug war? Not to dismiss SOPA as unimportant, but in the list of government power grabs it barely warrants a footnote, in my opinion. Where's the anger for everything else? In my opinion the only reason they put forward SOPA is because of the arrogance our complacency has encouraged in them.

    1. And don't forget, they're only backing off of SOPA because of the Senate's version, RIPA, up for vote on Jan 24.

    2. I think the reason people are so outraged is because the internet is the one area of the marketplace government hasn't wrecked yet. And can anyone give me any area of the economy which has LESS regulation than the internet?
Hell, I say we DO have free market capitalism in the U.S. ...in whatever sector of the economy is comprised by the internet, and the internet only. That's what makes it the most dynamic and important institution we must protect from government interference.

  7. Hey Yankees.

That pile of human garbage in the House and the Senate, take them out to the dump. Is that the best you can elect, your very best? Outrageous human activity, darkness will follow you everywhere now. Light of the world, freedom, good ol' USA, bull crap.

    1. You know what is really funny? I cannot help but imagine your question to Americans, but instead of Americans, the question is posed to North Koreans.

The mechanism of the state is the same everywhere, only the process and its degree of saturation differs. Well, that and the docility of the populace.
