Two Sides Prepare for a Major May Battle in Chicago

Both the government and the curious Occupy Movement are preparing for a major showdown in Chicago this May.

Fear of what may come, prompted President Obama to relocate the planned May G-8 Summit from Chicago to Camp David, but that still leaves the  May 20-21 NATO summit.

Chicago Mayor Rahn Emanuel has just ordered  an additional 8,513 more face shields for Chicago Police officers. According to Infowars, the supplemental purchase from Colorado-based Super Seer Corp. brings to $954,118 the amount of money spent to purchase 11,570 face shields twice as thick as the old ones with a larger surface and air-tight seal to keep liquids out.

With this supplemental purchase, every officer on the street will have a shield that fits over a gas mask and prevents them from being blinded by liquids thrown by protesters.

Here's a report from the Occupation side via Adbusters, the outfit that launched the Occupy Movement:
Occupiers from across the middle of America are gathering in St. Louis, Missouri this weekend for an Occupy the Midwest regional summit that will build connections and lay the foundation for May’s #OCCUPYCHICAGO swarms and #LAUGHRIOT jams. Yesterday, on the first day of the summit occupiers attempted to set up an encampment in a local park. It was a bold move, and one that sets the stage for attempts that will be made in Chicago. The police reacted swiftly and brutally. Eyewitnesses report that tazers were used, a dozen arrests were made, and several occupiers were led away with their faces covered in blood. The video below shows a mob of billy-club wielding, disorganized cops descending on the encampment, ripping up tents and arresting people.

  1. I wonder to what extent they will enforce that "no protesting at events where the secret service is present" law.
