President Obama's 'Buy the Youth Vote' Program

Reuters reports:
The White House pledged on Wednesday to help lower-income youth find summer jobs in a move likely to appeal to younger voters crucial to President Barack Obama's re-election campaign.
The initiative is in partnership with the cities of Philadelphia, Chicago and San Francisco and is meant to add 110,000 jobs, internships and mentorships to the 180,000 summer work opportunities for 16-24 year olds that Obama has promised to create for 2012.
Under the new program, companies such as Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, Johnson & Johnson, and UBS, as well as non-profits and federal agencies such as the Department of Education will offer paying jobs as well as mentorships and other training programs.
This is the power of the presidency. The President knows exactly how many votes he needs to win re-election. He will continue handing out tax money to various groups, until he is confident he has bought enough votes to win the November election.

As for the kids in this program, it is terrible indoctrination that you should count on the government to get a job. And, of course, the corporate cronies in on this program get cheap subsidized labor. Mussolini economics rolls on.

  1. obviously since this is a government program it'll fail miserably. witness how most of that spending is slated to be in solidly democrat states like california and illinios.

seems like that money would be better spent in the purple states. hopefully no one is paying attention to this comment.
