on MSNBC.

  1. Very disappointing to see Ron Paul taking Social Security. If you're getting a government check, you're part of the problem

    1. Hey, he paid into it.
      Read Walter Block.

    2. First of all, you have the right to get what you pay for.

Second, he is a politician. He's always getting a government check, paid for through forcible taxation. If you have a problem with that, you shouldn't be voting for any politician, including Ron Paul.
Which is the way a lot of us voluntaryists feel.

    3. So if you're using public roads, public schools, welfare, unemployment, and anything publicly financed, then you're part of the problem. Those who receive more than they put into SS should stop.

    4. Public roads? Nonsense. There are no alternatives that are economically viable. The govt has a near monopoly on roads. Public schools is debatable since you are forcibly taxed to pay for them. I agree with your analysis of welfare and unemployment, however.

  2. Man, I'm going to miss Ron in congress. Once in a blue moon politician. One with principles.

    2. Yeah, tell me about it. I wish he was only in his 50s right now.

  3. A man that both true liberty-loving conservatives AND bleeding-heart liberals could get behind, and instead we're stuck with the murderous (drone strikes on Americans, non-combatants, etc.) Obama and manicured Mitt... *sigh*

  4. So RP has a rare opportunity to expound his ideas on TV, and all they show are pictures of MITT ROMNEY???
Hey, the medium is the message. You're left thinking that Mitt sure looks handsome in that white shirt.
Bah. No wonder we're so dumb.

  5. I don't blame the man for taking social security. He paid into a system that he deplores his whole life. Think of all the money the fed. govt. has confiscated from Mr. Paul. I would try to get it back myself.

  6. @ LibertyLover:

The only problem with your sentence is that certain words are written in the past tense: "paid" and "confiscated." As Dr. Paul said at the end of the interview, he is *still* paying into the system and he receives less than what he contributes.

Even Mika Brzezinski said that the current situation -- as it applies to Paul's contribution -- does not make any sense.

  7. @ antiahithophel

Sorry, your right, he is still having money confiscated. The Federal Government is currently stealing money from Dr. Paul and I don't blame him for taking his money back.

  8. The weather vane for the elite on libertarian views and standing in USA society will need to be replaced for them. Big shoes to fill, who is up for it? The flash in the pan Rand? Not.
