  1. So the masses are to call in to this teleconference?

    Seems like a hoax.

  2. This rumor started because Ron Paul will be on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on 9/4/12. He's supposed to make a special announcement on the Tonight Show which prompted Ron Paul followers to speculate that Ron Paul might be running on a third party ticket or endorse Gary Johnson.

Maybe this is just a ploy to raise money for Campaign For Liberty to enrich Trygve Olson/Jesse Benton.

  3. Two words: ballot access. This needed to begin about six months ago to have a shot at being on the ballot in more than a state or two.

    1. As I have written before, this is why Gary Johnson should step aside and let Ron Paul take his place on the LP ticket (perhaps with Gary as his veep), which I believe is on the ballot in all 50 states.

    2. And is the Libertarian Party supposed to reconvene a national convention to make this official? And aren't most registrars of voters printing up ballots for November about now?

      Ridiculous.

  5. I just listened to the first 15 minutes. It seems like a stretch. Basically, this guy called Ron Paul and asked him if he would run third party. RP didn't rule it out completely but said he didn't think he would do it because of the money it would cost and the trouble with getting on the ballot in 50 states. So the solution by the guy holding the conference call was to get Ron Paul to take Gary Johnson's spot on the libertarian ticket. That's when I ended the call since that ain't happening.

  6. I have a hard time foreseeing Ron running third party, but I kind of want to see it happen just to see whether Rand actively campaigns against his father or not.

And if we indulge in the idea, it would be nice to see him ditch Benton and focus on education (assuming he polled well enough to be included in the debates).

  7. Evan spoke with Dr. Paul on 9/1.

Dr. Paul said he would consider if he saw enough support.

  8. Romney ain't the answer! GOP and the 'Pretentious nominee' DIRTY TRICKS = TYRANNY. Obama = TYRANNY. Ron Paul is MY Candidate! A Johnson/Paul or a Paul/Johnson ticket is just fine by me! Put it up there for me and the entire liberty movement to support and vote for! Freedom is popular! The voices of the people will be heard!

  9. I would first have to hear it straight from Ron Paul, as I expect the ONLY way he would do this would be were Gray (the VP Lib candidate) to willingly drop out-- of his OWN volition.
No, I surely do not expect Gary Johnson to drop out or move down for Ron Paul to be the Libertarian candidate for POTUS, as well he should not. Libertarians had their primary votes, too (I don't know how they do this, but know I saw the names on the REP ballot in Texas combo-primary), so Johnson does have to pay attention to what his own supporters want, and much less to what Ron Paul folk want. It's only right and, if I know Dr Paul as I am sure I do, this switch-up would surely not be conditional on US (his voters, supporters, volunteers) wanting it.
Surely, Dr Paul saw what happened in Tampa (afterward, I bet), and he'd want to do what he can, legally, legitimately, and morally, for the country.
It could be that the most moral thing for Ron Paul to do is serve as Senior Adviser to the Johnson/Gray Campaign. As I am not, today, a member of the Libertarian party, it is not going to have anything to do with my desires.

Yes, I would love to see Dr Paul on the ticket, in either capacity, but I really don't know.. IF..

Regarding the debates; we all saw what they (MSM) did to Dr Paul in polls. They threw them out, ignored when he won, repeatedly, and did all they could to not allow his face or name on the television. Would this be any different were Ron Paul running along with Gary Johnson? I really do not believe so.
But, it is a ticket I would certainly consider voting for..
