Jon Stewart Smacks Paul Krugman Hard: "The Only Creature More Noble Than a Freshly Felched Unicorn"
This is quite something, though Stewart does wimp out a tiny bit at the end and says he is a fan of Krugman. But, with fans like Stewart, Krugman doesn't need enemies like Murphy, Anderson and Wenzel.
I love the felching unicorn money graphic...it'd be great if U.S. IOU's had figures of greek mythology on them...then we could all ponder the the power of mythical money back by nothing while whimsically staring at the various mythology printed on each denomination.
Above all, however, what went wrong here is a lack of professionalism on the part of Stewart and his staff. Yes, it’s a comedy show — but the jokes are supposed to be (and usually are) knowing jokes, which are funny and powerful precisely because the Daily Show people have done their homework and understand the real issues better than the alleged leaders spouting nonsense. IN THIS CASE, HOWEVER, IT’S OBVIOUS THAT NOBODY AT TDS SPENT EVEN A FEW MINUTES RESEARCHING THE TOPIC. IT WAS JUST YUK-YUK-YUK THEY’RE TALKING ABOUT A TRILLION-DOLLAR CON HAHAHA.
Hey, if we want this kind of intellectual laziness, we can just tune in to Fox.

We get the Platinum Coin from the Keynesians and Ben Stein and the 2nd Holocaust from the NeoCons. I smell desperation.
Its simply amazing what a small insecure man Krugman is. I guess he felt threatened since the tards that lap up his blog's poli-econ nonsense also watch and admire Stewart. Sad to think this man is educating our young adults. I can only imagine how doctrinal his classes most likely are.
I have a friend in NYC who is a very smart, talented, and well-off guy. He is one of these super-minds (who happens also to have finished NY's best music academy) who then went and made a lot of money working on WS. Very left however and he thinks Krugman is fantastic.
Someone that thinks Krugman is fantastic, and is "very left" cannot be all that bright.
For the simple reason that to be very left, you need to employ irrational emotion-based arguments (appeal to pity, appeal to envy etc.), rather than logical arguments (if theft is morally wrong, wearing a government costume cannot make it morally right).

ReplyDeleteI had to look up the term used in the title. Good God, purge my brain.
ReplyDeleteThat was the best smack down of Krugman ever. I can't wait for him to stomp his little feet and ball his fists and respond.
ReplyDeleteCue Randy Newman's "short people" song.....lol...I keed!
DeleteKrugman threw a fit at Stewart several days ago:
