A Map of Every Country that England has Invaded

Pretty much, at one time or another, every piece of dry land on the planet.

  1. In other words, for Brittania, ruling the waves was only the beginning.

  2. And would anybody deny that the British Monarchy is the most entrenched and amongst the most influential today.

But we are free of their rule in this country because we revolted successfully.

    I have a thought...

Wouldn't it be best (from an aristocratic, monarchal or even Machiavellian point of view) to have your subjects "feel" that they are in control of their own destinies? Wouldn't those subjects be the happiest, productive and faithful?

    1. The best way to rule is to NOT rule, therefore the felling of not being ruled would lead tot he highest productivity, the happiest population.

But to what end? What does the ruler get if he's not ruling? Wouldn't he be better of an entrepreneur with the power to satisfy customers than a king with no power?
