Google Shows Off 'Talking Shoe'

Google Glass is still in beta but that's not stopping the search giant from showcasing more oddball projects bubbling out of its labs—including a goofy "talking shoe" which is currently making a star turn at SXSW 2013 in Austin, Texas, reports PC Magazine.

Google's latest toy "aims to translate movement data [into] witty messages to users and their friends," TechCrunch's Gregory Ferenstein reported. Thus, in a Google video promo (below) the sharp-tongued shoe mutters, "This is boring" when its wearer is loafing on a park bench but perks up when he breaks into a trot, enthusing, "I love the feeling of wind in my laces."

  1. The difference between creative genius(Jobs) and stupidity(Google in this instance) is at times interesting.

  2. In other news, Google announces "talking jockey shorts".

  3. This is one of the dumbest ideas I have ever heard of. Reminds me of the "jump to conclusions" board game from the movie "Office Space".
