But most telling, although Jeffrey Tucker say this about bitcoins:
Bitcoin proves the opposite, that a money can emerge from within the market itself, based purely on voluntary behavior, and needs no privileged elites to manage it.
That is an essential postulate of the free society. When government gets hold of the money, freedom is in peril. When the market makes and manages money, freedom has a built-in reinforcement in half of every transaction. In short, just based on our experience with Bitcoin so far, we see the conventional wisdom of a century completely turned on its head...Inside [the book on bitcoins], you’ll learn the best ways to buy, sell, store, transact, and potentially profit from the rise of a new digital currency. As seen below, you can't use bitcoins to buy the book that says bitcoins are the new money. Here's the actual options LFB offers to pay:
Bitcoin has been around for over 4 years now and has had over three months of heavy press coverage. The fact that it isn't accepted by 100% of commerce just proves that it will never catch on. If you can't become accepted globally after 3 full months of press hype I have just one word. FAIL!
ReplyDeleteNot sure if serious.
DeleteYou think payment networks can be overhauled in 3 months or even years? There is a lot of technical work involved. How long from the introduction of debit cards until they were ubiquitous?
Delete"The fact that it isn't accepted by 100% of commerce just proves that it will never catch on"
So the only things that catch on go from 0% to 100% adoption in an instant? Examples?
Wenzel - how many anti-bitcoin articles is this from you just today? Give it a rest already. As an alternative, get to work on your Pro-IP book - we're all eagerly waiting.
ReplyDeleteIf there is no copyright on the books, why join the club? Why not just take the books for free?
ReplyDeleteHow do you suggest taking them? They are behind a firewall. Of course, you could sign up for a month, download the books, and leave the club. Either way, your "question" is just an attempt to poke at Tucker and Kinsella's positions on IP. It is pretty weak and they have already hammered Wenzel on a similar, bullshit question years ago.
Delete"How do you suggest taking them? They are behind a firewall. Of course, you could sign up for a month, download the books, and leave the club." Or as an option, I could pay someone that already bought the subscription some small amount, or maybe swap a downloaded song with them for it and we all know that Tucker being anti ip in the NSK fashion is cool with that. Really, I don't even know why he is charging at all considering the ideas in his book are not scarce(or rivalrous). lmao!
DeleteIf you already have bitcoins, you aren't likely to buy this book. Just sayin'.
