Adam Kokesh Expected to Appear in Washington, D.C. Superior Court TODAY

Adam Kokesh, who was arrested at his home in Virginia, is now in the custody of D.C. authorities, according to a spokesman for the U.S. attorney’s office and court documents, reports WaPo.

The spokesman, Bill Miller, said Kokesh is expected to be arraigned in D.C. Superior Court Friday afternoon. Court documents show that Kokesh is being charged with one count of illegally possessing a shotgun related to a video he posted on YouTube, of himself appearing to load a shotgun in D.C.’s Freedom Plaza.

It is illegal to possess ammunition and unregistered firearms in the District. It is also illegal to carry a weapon in public.

In court papers, police said they seized a Maverick pump action 12-gauge shotgun hidden in a headboard in his bedroom. The court documents say police found nine other guns in the house, including rifles and semiautomatic handguns.
