AWESOME David Petraeus Gets Heckled by CUNY Students on His Way to Class

File under: Another sign the empire is collapsing.

There is something in the air right now and it is not good for the power elite.

  1. What the elite needs is another 9/11 though it's risky as I'm not sure people would buy it.

But if they are desperate, they would try it and declining empires are not known for wise and careful decision making.

  2. This something I do not agree with. This angry needs to be directed to the politicians, not to the military.

    1. Because the hit-men are the honorable members of the mafia! I don't support what the Nazi's did, but you can't blame the German soldier.

    2. Don't criticize the military. Doncha know that state sponsored murder is wonderful and so are the murderers that make it possible?

    3. The military does not decide when and where to fight. Those decisions are made by politicians. The politicians could defund the entire military complex if they so chose.

Maybe Petraeus is a bad guy--I do not know. The military complex is not good or bad. It is an extension of the political class of this country. If you want to end the complex, go to the people you fund it and deploy it.

Comparing Petraeus or any other U.S. soldier to a Nazi. That is just plain crazy.

    4. Someone once told me, "It's different when we kill innocent people. We always apologize." Given the suicide rate of USG soldiers, not all of them are forgiving themselves.

  3. I don't know how this is awesome. Petraeus got taken out and silenced. But to have a group of CUNY Marxist art students stalking him down the streets of NY, calling him a war criminal (with a low-level of proof; I'm not saying he isn't, I just prefer stronger proof) with every putrid obscenity is hardly awesome. Yeah, it may not be good for the power elite, but it certainly does no good for the rest of us either. I mean what benefit is served? I am no fan of Petraeus, the CIA, or the Pentagon, but what is disturbing is when moral authority is seized by the poor and the mob of 99% who view paying taxes as a social good and duty, as if it were a charity, to fund the poor while making the rich richer. That is not awesome. Do you think that these same students would stalk Obama down Broadway? Hardly.

  4. The head of CENTCOM at the time(General Fallon) called Petraeus a psychophant and an ass-kissing little chickenshit. No sympathy here.

  5. You don't know they are Marxists...some may be Ron Paul voters.

A common Sean Hannity technique to call anyone who opposes war a communist even if it makes no sense at all. I've seen the interventionist call Ron Paul a communists.

  6. It is obvious from the comments here that the powers that be have been extremely successful in their quest to make the military sacrosanct.

The German Military in WWII was not exempted from carrying out unlawful orders. The process was called the Nuremberg Trials.

The sad part is, to the victor goes the spoils. There will be no accountability for our military and leadership until the world forces it to happen.

We have become the very terrorists we supposedly set out to destroy. It is the lack of accountability and the ability of a "special class" of people to be above the law that causes these moral hazards to begin with. We reap what we sow. The test is if the average citizen doing the same actions would be put on trial and face incarceration.

  7. I can't say I agree with the tactics. I think it looks better when people like Kokesh/Rudowski calmly confront individuals like Petraeus and act in a civilized manner. Stuff like this makes it easy for people to dismiss you as a loon.

  8. This looks good for Petraeus and bad for the hecklers. The retired general kept his cool throughout all of this. Whereas, the so-called "students," behaved shamefully. These are the people who are supposed to be the "educated" ones, yet they showed less class than a group of wild orangutans.
