Steve Jobs' Advice for Entrepreneurs

  1. Get govt to give you a monopoly. That's the only advice Jobs has to offer. Without govt issued patents, Steve Jobs would have been without a job.

    1. Patents expire.

      Monopolies don't.

      And, you're an asshole.

    2. Patents create monopolies. Without patents, there would be more robust competition in the smartphone market. Apple wouldn't be able to gouge the market for $1000 a phone if there were a vibrant market absent patent laws.

  2. Either way, Jobs is right. Passion and the love of what you're doing is the key to it all. You've got to bound out of bed in the morning to rush to the job you love. If you don't, you're marking time, making some money, but not following your dreams.
