"Restoring the Spirit of Liberty will Solve America's Political Problems"

Richard Ebeling emails:

Dear Bob,

I have a new opinion article on the news and opinion website, "EpicTimes," on, "Restoring a Spirit of Liberty will Solve America's Political Problems."

I argue that while all the media attention is on the fallout from the government shutdown and the fight over the government debt ceiling, the real battle is about the "soul" of America as either a country devoted to a spirit of freedom, self-responsibility, and enterprise, or a society of political paternalism in which government oversees and controls increasing aspects of our lives.

I suggest that we must restore what the Alexis de Tocqueville called the "habits of the heart" and "character of mind" that made America great as a unique land of liberty and prosperity.

  1. Reminds me of Robert LeFevre's "A Way To Be Free":

  2. Step 1: Stop using govt built and maintained roads to commute to work.
Step 2: Stop using govt subsidized internet
Step 3: boycott all businesses which receive govt spending via tax expenditures
    etc etc

    2. In case you hadn't noticed, dummy, we're FORCED to pay for it. At the very least we have a right to use them until such time as we are no longer forced to pay for them. Does that mean any less that forcing someone to pay for something is morally wrong? NO. Because the monopoly of violence offers no options. It takes control of options through force, establishes a monopoly, and as such forces you to both pay, and use what they force you to pay for through lack of options.

This is all simple, and i realize the simplest things won't penetrate that pondscum covered brain of yours, but maybe someone else will learn something.

    3. Funny how we have refuted these statements thousands of times yet people keep trying to use them as if they're some kind of argument. They don't even see how desperate they are. LOL!
