MUST SEE Google Going Robot Crazy

Google just acquired Boston Dynamics. This is the eighth robotics company Google has purchased in the last six months.

Check this out:

WildCat is a four-legged robot being developed to run fast on all types of terrain. So far WildCat has run at about 16 mph on flat terrain using bounding and galloping gaits.

And this:

And most disconcerting this:

Boston Dyamic's humanoid Atlas and Petman robots can balance on two legs, walk, and do calisthenics. Video of an uncannily human Petman in fatigues—the robot was built to test chemical warfare gear.

Just testing, oh yeah.

  1. Once they hook this thing up to google satellite and operate it through an offshore shell company, most of us will become victims. Good luck with recourse once this thing mistakenly barrels through your front door.

  2. All of these programs are being funded by the military. You can guess what for...getting droned by air, sea and land. The robots will have weapons when they are finalized.

  4. Yes, we have every reason to worry about the government using technology to suppress freedom. But I guess I have a minority opinion among some libertarians. Technology is technology. Drones, robots, etc. are amoral machines that can be used for good or for evil. (the term "drone" for better or worse, has a negative connotation already, even when it's used by the private sector (i.e. Amazon)). The technological advances are coming, that is a fact. And until we live in a libertarian world, the government will have access to the best technology.

    1. At least one of Boston Dynamics' robots is intended to carry gear for a soldier on patrol. No doubt the EMP threat will be considered if it hasn't already.
