Rand Paul has slipped to 9 percent and third place in the most recent NBC News/Marist Poll measuring Republican support for potential 2016 candidates, reports the Courier-Journal.
In December, Rand had the backing of 12 percent of Republicans, putting him in second place behind New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
