This Is Why I Don't Watch CNBC Very Often

I did have it on this afternoon for a bit, though, and the discussion was on the news that the Congressional Budget Office has a new report out that says Obamacare will result in 2 million people losing their jobs.

CNBC's senior "economics" reporter Steve Liesman piped in and said that this may not be as bad as it looks because "Obamacare may keep, those still with jobs, healthier."

This guy obviously has no clue what Mussolini healthcare is going to mean for this country, when it kicks in. It is not better healthcare. It will mean lines, poorer service, higher insurance premiuims, a crash in innovation and, eventually, a decline in life expectancy.

Liesman has no clue about basic economics. He is good at one thing, cozying up to those in power.

  5. Politically, I'm opposed to any type of Federal health care; but I'm also opposed to any type of Gov't license requirements for nurses, MDs, etc.

I agree Obamacare as you said will result in ".. lines, poorer service, higher insurance premiuims, a crash in innovation," but strongly disagree with your final comment: " eventually, a decline in life expectancy."

The U.S. allopathic health care is abysmal. Despite what most Americans think, life expectancy at birth in the U.S. is # 49 in the world:

And #22, when just looking at "healthy years" -- i.e., not from birth:

U.S. is #37 in infant mortality, just ahead of Croatia, but behind Cuba, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, in addition to many other "Industrialized" countries.

To the extend Obamacare reduces standard U.S. allopathic medical services, the Country will likely be healthier, and life expectancy increase. Oddly, that means ultimately Obamacare will be a net addition to the long-term wealth of the Country.
