Must View: The Good Wife

Last night, I watched The Good Wife, Season 5 Episode 13, "Parallel Construction, Bitches." This is a must view. It provides great insight on how the NSA is likely providing information to federal prosecutors on domestic cases and how prosecutors are attempting to hide the source of their information. This will do more to educate the public than Greenwald and Snowden combined. In fact, it goes well beyond Greenwald and Snowden, why aren't Greenwald and Snowde telling us about parallel construction?

The current episode can now be seen online, here.

Order the full fourth season, here: The Good Wife: The Fourth Season

  1. This CIA is also doing this, they just tried this very thing a couple of weeks ago:

The takeaway quote from the above link:

"According to sources familiar with the interview, the lead CIA agent – flown down from Langley, Virginia specifically for the meeting – offered Amee Patrick information that would ostensibly aid her in the case against her husband.

The only catch? She would have to sign a non-disclosure document prohibiting her from discussing anything related to the case – including her husband’s various shady business dealings."

  2. I think I'd rather swallow glass than watch anything produced by one of the alphabet soup networks.

  3. I saw the episode as well. My immediate reaction was 1. There must be a huge division between the CBS series production side and CBS News. 2. The show has been cancelled, and the producers have nothing to lose.

  4. Why is the wiretap guy on the right wearing an ancap tee shirt

  5. Bob, you're taking the lack of parallel construction discussion as another "evidence" point that FedGov wants to legitimize NSA surveillance and Greenwald and Snowden are willing or unknowing participants in a operation to do such?

    1. If the Greenwald-Snowden stuff was a limited hangout, it might make sense that any current NSA information supplied to federal prosecutors wouldn't come out by way of Greenwald-Snowden. You can look at the Good Wife episode as possibly continued limited hangout via a fictionalized version or. more likely, the Good Wife writers picked up on gossip between defense lawyers that parallel construction appears to be going on. The episode seemed to have a defense slant to it on parallel construction. And then, of course, we have one of the NSA wiretappers wearing an AnCap t-shirt!

    2. Re: AnCap shirt. Yes saw that.

Without a doubt this "parallel construction" is happening. And I'm sure the semantics of what the episode portrayed are pretty on target also. Plus all the "diplomatic leaks" happening with respect to the Ukraine seem to verify that every government is doing it.

I'm grinning with smug satisfaction that these entities are having to reap what they sow. Karma is a bitch.
