Don't Expect Students at D.C. Public Schools to Be Assigned Lew Rockwell's Book

A sixth-grade teacher in Washington will apologize to students for asking them to draw comparisons between former President George W. Bush and Adolph Hitler, reports AP.

D.C. Public Schools says the McKinley Middle School teacher sent students home with a Venn diagram asking them to compare and contrast Hitler and Bush, with instructions that said, "both men abused their powers."

D.C. Public Schools said in a Wednesday statement that the teacher admitted to poor judgment and will apologize to students.

I guess Lew Rockwell's book, Fascism vs. Capitalism, won't be making it on to the schools reading list any time soon. But it should be on yours!

  1. What's absurd is that in political science, it is an uncontroversial claim to say that George Bush abused his powers. He did, objectively. A Hitler Venn diagram is totally healthy to teach kids about power and violence and their limits. So it's sending the opposite of the right message to make this teacher apologize!

  2. Sounds like an educational project to me, although Hitler's government did a lot more than Cheney's. the death tolls are vastly different too.
