Here's John Kerry in 1971 in his Vietnam Veterans Against the War Statement:
- We rationalized destroying villages in order to save them. We saw America lose her sense of morality...
- We learned the meaning of free fire zones, shooting anything that moves, and we watched while America placed a cheapness on the lives of orientals.
- We watched the United States falsification of body counts, in fact the glorification of body counts.
- We listened while month after month we were told the back of the enemy was about to break.
Here's John Kerry today:
.@JohnKerry: One thing every diplomat here today knows: American leadership and engagement should not be up for debate in the first place.

.@JohnKerry: Engagement and leadership, not retrenchment and isolationism are the American DNA.

He does not lie. Heck, he gave the details back in 1971. The 100+ year-old Empire has been militarily "engaging" the entire planet. Here's the list. Be ready to scroll.
.@JohnKerry: We are an exceptional nation not because we say we are, but because we do exceptional things.

While the state does do this people, there's an alternate explanation that is more fitting in this instance. In each instance he says what's best for John Kerry at the time he says it.
