Countdown to the Nobel Prize in Economics

Will Austrian School economist Israel Kirzner receive the award?

The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded today to John O’Keefe and May-Britt and Edvard Moser for work on cells that form a positioning system in the brain — its hard-wired GPS.

The prizes for chemistry and peace will be announced on Wednesday and Friday, respectively. The Nobel Prize for literature will also be announced Wednesday.

The Nobel Prize in economics will be announced next Monday, October 13.

Each prize is worth 8 million Swedish kronor, or about $1.1 million.
