Economists to Trump: Reject Cronyism, Embrace Capitalism

Today 28 professors from across the country have signed an open letter to Donald J. Trump encouraging his endorsement of free-market reforms that the economists say are absolutely necessary to make the U.S. economy great again. The time is now say the economists to move away from the failed policies of greater debt, regulation, and easy money that has been advocated by past leadership from both parties.

With the 2016 Republican National Convention set to begin next week,, the signatories hope that  Trump will embrace the seven reforms outlined in the letter and push for their inclusion in the RNC’s platform.

The original organizers behind the letter include:.

Dr. Dominick T. Armentano, Professor Emeritus of Economics, University of Hartford and the author of Antitrust and Monopoly: Anatomy of a Policy Failure

Dr. William N. Butos, the George M. Ferris Professor of Corporation Finance and Investments in the department of economics at Trinity College and an expert on monetary economics and government funding of science.

Dr. Joseph Salerno, Professor of Economics, Pace University and Academic Vice President of the Mises Institute and the author of Money: Sound and Unsound.
