Hey Trump, I'll Take Three Undocumenteds So Bring Them On Up

By Robert Wenzel

So the latest from combover man is that he is going to use ICE as kind of a transportation service and ship newly arriving undocumented to sanctuary cities.

Like most things he tweets about this will probably not happen. That's sad because I am in the middle of three major sanctuary cities, San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose. The mayors of all three cities have said they would welcome the undocumented. This would be great.

I imagine the black market wage for undocumented would collapse, maybe down to $5.00 per hour. Then I could live the life I have always dreamed of: servants everywhere.

At $5.00 an hour, I would hire three. One a kind of man-servant that I once saw a president of Wall Street firm had. The guy just sort of stood to the corner waiting for orders.

Then I would hire a separate full-time chauffeur. Goodbye Uber!

And I would hire a full time cleaning lady.

If the price dropped below $5.00 an hour, I would hire even more, maybe someone to shave me every morning.

Life would be good.

I have explained this before, the more people entering a region to work, if wages stay positive, the greater the general standard of living for the area will rise.

Of course, Trump is being cute and demanding that the state of California take care of these people but I say no to that. When these people sneak over the border, they stay low key in relation to the government, I want that to continue.

Send them here to work, let them find their own places to live (probably 6 to a room at the start) and there will be a natural break in the flow if the wages fall too low and quarters get too expensive. That's how the free market works and stops overflowing from occurring.

  1. Couldn't your man-servant shave you? I would assume his daily duties would be to wake you, prepare and serve your breakfast, lay out your clothes for the day, etc. - much like the butler in the opening scene of 'Trading Places'.

  2. So RW, could they live six to a room in your home or in your community? Like the liberals its all about you and damn the rest of us that would have put up with this wave of human debris.

I think they should all be rounded up and deported, but if we are going to do catch and release they should be dropped into every sanctuary city. If some liberals get raped, beaten or killed by some, that would make my day.

Illegals driving also cause plenty of accidents and have no insurance to the detriment of property owners among other problems. Why is the destruction of property by illegals and the tax drain they cause to local communities never honestly addressed by libertarians for more immigrants from failed societies?

  3. Wasn't the left in favor of mandatory busing historically? Now they're against mandatory busing hysterically?

  4. The ex employs 4 - 6 of these folks at a time for yard and building maintenance, pretty much full time. They have become almost family. Nice people and hard workers.

  5. The point of a sanctuary city is for people illegally in the USA to be able to receive local government services without fear of deportation.

From wikipedia: "Leaders of sanctuary cities say they want to reduce fear of deportation and possible family break-up among people who are in the country illegally, so that such people will be more willing to report crimes, use health and social services, and enroll their children in school."

Given the base line expenses for housing etc in the bay area, at $5/hr these people you would hire would need to use a variety of government services to supplement that. Of course you house and feed them yourself in addition to that $5/hr they will need less. But given previous posts I doubt there is sunk-cost space available to be servants' quarters.

Now in a PPS or something much closer to one than the present bay area maybe the cost of living would drop low enough or maybe it wouldn't and higher wages would be demanded. In any case since we are not living in a PPS or anything close to one we are discussing taxpayer subsidized labor.

    1. That simply does not occur to RW. He has become a leftist who shills for the siren song of equality when none such equality exist. I have to hand it to RW for making some good money being self employed and can live above the crap us peons are stuck with because of poor immigration and other policies, but I really wish he would pull his head out of butt on the issue of race, IQ, and culture.

    2. Race, IQ, and culture aren't even the issue, especially for an economics site. RW personally benefits in the net from the present conditions and their expansion or at least he thinks he does. The ones who don't are labeled and their complaints dismissed.

There is no recognition that government interference does not affect all people in the same manner. It's nice that RW benefits in the net but many don't. The people who don't have a net benefit also do not get to pretend that we live in a PPS but have deal with the realities as they are.

  7. I think Trump's plan is a brilliant one, but I agree with you that unfortunately he probably won't do it. But it is worth it just to see the open borders hypocrites squeal when faced with the possible consequences of the policies they champion. "We love migrant hordes, as long as they are not near us."
