To Save the Economy and His Re-Election Prospects, President Trump Should Have Pulled a John Cowperthwaite Months Ago

 Sir John Cowperthwaite
By Robert Wenzel

The Center for Disease Control is a hotbed of anti-Trump sentiment.

President Trump and those around him are starting to get it.

The Washington Post reports:
“There is a view the CDC is staffed with ‘deep state’ Democrats that are trying to tweak the administration,” said one [White House] adviser who also spoke on the condition of anonymity to reveal private conversations.
Of course, it is. That should have been obvious back in February when the CDC trotted out Rod Rosenstein's sister Nancy Messonnier to declare "Disruption to everyday life might be severe" because of COVID-19.

Immediately after the Messonnier warning, lefty mainstream media went on the attack against Trump for not doing enough to prevent COVID-19 from entering the US.

And now we have the unrelenting reporting on the new Sunbelt spike in cases of COVID-19, a spike fueled to a large extent by the vast testing that is going on. The infection reports are all being put out of context to continue the fearmongering that Trump is incompetent in handling the COVID-19 "crisis." Lies, damn lies and COVID-19 reporting are what we are seeing.

Long ago, Trump should have put a stop to the mass testing, it serves no health purpose other than to be used as a tool against him by the anti-Trump operatives in the CDC and state health agencies.

Those with severe systems that are in hospitals should be tested to see if indeed they should be treated for COVID-19 but that is about all.

Trump should have gone total Sir John Cowperthwaite months ago.

Cowperthwaite was the financial secretary of Hong Kong from 1961 to 1971, a period of spectacular growth in the then British colony.

Marian Tupy, a policy analyst with the Center for Global Liberty and Prosperity, has reported on a conversation he had with Cowperthwaite in 1999:
Sir John was an old‐fashioned man. When I finally met him, I found him to be modest but self‐assured. While other colonial administrators throughout the British Empire were busy adopting statist economic policies, Sir John rejected the socialist zeitgeist. Heavily influenced by Adam Smith, Sir John let the Hong Kong economy grow unhindered by bureaucratic overreach. As he told me, “I came to Hong Kong and found the economy working just fine. So, I left it that way.”...
At some point during our first conversation I managed to irk him by suggesting that he was chiefly known “for doing nothing.” In fact, he pointed out, keeping the British political busy‐bodies from interfering in Hong Kong’s economic affairs took up a large portion of his time...
Of all the policies that we discussed, one stands out in my mind — if for no other reason than because it is so thoroughly counterintuitive. I asked him to name the one reform that he was most proud of. "I abolished the collection of statistics," he replied. Sir John believed that statistics are dangerous, because they enable social engineers of all stripes to justify state intervention in the economy.
Trump should have abolished the collection and reporting of COVID-19 statistics long ago. He should have declared that the collection and reporting of COVID-19 data was a national security issue. That, just to rub it into the crazed anti-Trump crowd, the data was being used by the Russians to find weaknesses in America. That any leaking of COVID-19 reports would be considered treason.

I am always in favor of using government laws against the government. Trump should have done this.

It is probably too late to do this now, the high-testing virus load will likely peak in the Sunbelt within weeks if it hasn't already. But Trump should be on alert to shut down any other data that might emerge from the propaganda "health" agencies.

All this said, if Trump is re-elected, he should keep a picture of Cowperthwaite in the top drawer of the Resolution desk in the Oval Office and make it his goal for his second term to follow Cowperthwaite's lead and keep government busy-bodies from interfering in the country's economic affairs.

  1. WOW! You gotta love Cowperthwaite. I assume when he stated "I abolished the collection of statistics" he meant by the government. It would be better to abolish the bureaucracies themselves but that was probably not politically possible. Its unfortunate that RW thinks Trump would have to use the Russia ruse. Its a brilliant idea politically but lends credence to the notion of germ warfare. Another fear mongering tactic. Unintended consequences might be worse than a joe biden presidency, not withstanding his crony proposals. After all, the only campaign promise any president has ever implemented was the unspoken promise to make himself and his friends rich at the expense of the taxpayer.

  3. Off topic, but TWO excellent anti-lockdown studies have just appeared. We now have the definitive report on Covid infections in children and their teachers from Folkhalsomyndigheten - The Public Health Agency of Sweden.

There has been a comparison study between Finland and Sweden with respect to covid affecting school children. Sweden had all its schools open and Finland had a lockdown on the schools for about two months. The results are out from this comparison study, and it shows no difference between the Swedish children and the Finnish ones. Swedish teachers are also not, in any way, and over-represented group of infected people. It's pretty clear that children are not a vehicle for the disease. Below is the link to the study in English:

    SUMMARY

This report is a comparison between Finland and Sweden, two in many ways similar countries who applied different measures regarding schools during the covid-19 pandemic. There is no difference in the overall incidence of the laboratory confirmed covid-19 cases in the age group 1-19 years in the two countries and the number of laboratory confirmed cases does not fluctuate with school closure or change in testing policy in Finland. In Sweden, the number of laboratory confirmed cases is affected by change in testing policy. Severe covid-19 disease as measured in ICU admittance is very rare in both countries in this age group and no deaths were reported. Outbreak investigations in Finland has not shown children to be contributing much in terms of transmission and in Sweden a report comparing risk of covid-19 in different professions, SHOWED NO INCREASED RISK FOR TEACHERS.

  4. Also, Dr. David Brownstein's study is out. I believe his lawyer made him delete it from his blog but others had already downloaded it and I got a copy. The government (Trump's FTC) is going to continue to attempt to punish him.

Setting: A family practice office in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan.

PUNCHLINE: A novel treatment program combining nutritional and oxidative therapies was shown to successfully treat the signs and symptoms of 100% of 107 patients diagnosed with COVID-19.

Patients: All patients seen in the office from February through May 2020 diagnosed with COVID-19 were included in the study. COVID-19 was either diagnosed via PCR or antibody testing as well as those not tested diagnosed via symptomology.

Interventions: Oral Vitamins A, C, D, and iodine were given to 107 subjects (99%). Intravenous solutions of hydrogen peroxide and Vitamin C were given to 32 (30%) and 37 (35%) subjects. Thirty-seven (35%) of the cohort was treated with intramuscular ozone. A dilute, nebulized hydrogen peroxide/ saline mixture, with Lugol’s iodine, was used by 91 (85%).

Main Outcome Measures: History and physical exam were reviewed for COVID-19 symptoms including cough, fever, shortness of breath, and gastrointestinal complaints. Laboratory reports were examined for SARS-CoV-2 results. Symptomatic improvement after treatment was reported for each patient consisting of first improvement, mostly better, and completely better.

Results: There were a total of 107 patients diagnosed with COVID-19. Thirty-four were tested for SARS-CoV-2(32%) and twenty-seven (25%) tested positive. Three were hospitalized (3%) with two of the three hospitalized before instituting treatment and only one requiring hospitalization after beginning treatment. There were no deaths. The most common symptoms in the cohort were fever (81%), shortness of breath (68%), URI which included cough (69%), and gastrointestinal distress symptoms (27%). For the entire cohort, first improvement was noted in 2.4 days. The cohort reported symptoms mostly better after 4.4 days and completely better 6.9 days after starting the program. For the SARS-CoV-2 test positive patients, fever was present in 25 (93%), shortness of breath in 20 (74%) and upper respiratory symptoms including cough in 21 (78%) while gastrointestinal symptoms were present in 9 (33%). The time to improvement in the SARS-CoV-2 test positive group was slightly longer than the entire cohort.

Conclusion: At present, there is no published cure, treatment, or preventive for COVID-19 except for a recent report on dexamethasone for seriously ill patients. A novel treatment program combining nutritional and oxidative therapies was shown to successfully treat the signs and symptoms of 100% of 107 patients diagnosed with COVID-19.

Each patient was treated with an individualized plan consisting of a combination of oral, IV, IM, and nebulized nutritional and oxidative therapies which resulted in zero deaths and recovery from COVID-19.

  5. The covid statistics mean basically nothing even if accurate for detecting the virus because the government never tells us how many positives are asymptomatic, mild cold/flu and/or severe cold and flu. We are never told what the vitamin D blood levels are of these "cases" or even of those who have died.

I have found ZERO interest by lockdowners in medical reports and they nothing about them. Quoting studies with good news verbatim along with links results mostly in vicious name-calling or complete silence from lockdowners. And anti-lockdowners seem to focus to much on the statistics and have little interest in the stages of illnesses caused by the virus and/or working treatments and preventatives. Overall, I get basically the same type of non-response response I would get when explaining the ABCT.

    Brain Dead Eloi Nation.
