What the Average American Will Get Out of the Just Agreed Upon $900 Billion COVID-19 Money Giveaway

Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell

UPDATE BELOW

Congressional leaders have reached a deal on a roughly $900 billion spending package under the cover of a COVID-19 "rescue" package.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, wearing yet another COVID-19 color co-ordinated mask, and Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer announced the accord Sunday. The legislative text was still being written, but the House was expected to vote on it Monday, followed by the Senate.

Keep in mind the Treasury does not have the cash for such a package and a good chunk of it will be monetized by the Federal Reserve, that is the Fed will print the money out of thin air.

The plan would provide direct payments of $600 to most Americans and $300-per-week in enhanced unemployment benefits through March, according to lawmakers and aides, Bloomberg reports. Expiring programs for gig workers and the long-term unemployed also would continue.

There would also be $284 billion for the Paycheck Protection Program that provides forgivable loans to small businesses. The package includes money for transportation -- including for airlines -- vaccine distribution, schools and universities, and food aid.

The relief plan will be attached to a $1.4 trillion bill that would fund the federal government through the end of the fiscal year on Sept. 30, 2021.

But don't think this is the end of the Great Money Pump.

McConnell has said he expects another relief proposal from Joe Biden

Biden last week called the emerging deal an “important down payment on what’s going to have to be done at the end of January, the beginning of February.”

So the average American in addition to getting $600 per month will likely face roaring price inflation in 2021.

Hug your gold coins.

UPDATE

Individuals including children will receive $600 in direct payments. A family of four could end up with $2,400. The payments decrease for people who made more than $75,000 during 2019. They would phase out completely for people who made above $99,000 that year.

  1. $600 Dollars? That's like a meal these sicko hypocrites have in their little private cafeteria the French Laundry. Of course just like that meal the $600 dollars and the rest of this boondoggle is another IOU from our broken backs.

    1. That's from an image that showed up on a Google Search for that place, from 2008. Wonder what the "inflation" rate has been since then. And the tax rate change.
