Ron Paul Had Breakfast with Ben Bernanke

Ron Paul had breakfast at the Fed with Fed Chairman Bernanke, Wednesday morning.

WSJ has the only details so far about the meeting:
One day after chairing a hearing on proposals to abolish or overhaul the central bank, the Texan congressman sat down for the first meal of the day Wednesday with Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, the lawmaker confirmed in a brief interview at the Capitol. The decision to meet for breakfast at the Fed was “mutual,” said Mr. Paul, who last year introduced a bill to eliminate the central bank.

The Fed chief and lawmaker had “sort of an open discussion,” Mr. Paul said, while declining to provide any details of the conversation. “It was off the record,” he said. The Fed declined to comment on the meeting.

Wednesday’s visit to the Fed’s Washington headquarters was not the first for Mr. Paul, who has said previously he dined at the central bank with former Fed Chairman Paul Volcker.

  3. All I want to hear is President Ron Paul say: "Mr. Bernanke, you're fired."

  5. "Congressman, I can deal with you grilling me at your periodic Congressional hearings.

"But, please keep that Wenzel guy away from my young, impressionable PhDs at the FRBNY. He is beginning to affect morale."

    1. Have you ever heard a sideboard or buffet called a credence table?

I wonder if they had one there.

    2. At first I thought you meant "credenza." Then I thought you meant credence (as in "the likelihood of something being true; plausibility"), and I thought only if RP was in the room. And then I looked the word up and found this: "credence: a small side table, shelf, or niche in a church for holding the elements of the Eucharist before they are consecrated: a credence table." And then I knew you were one awful clever wordsmith. Of course they have a credence table there, since their monetary beliefs are based on faith, in the absence of evidence. The only question is what they keep on it, besides a worn out copy of The General Theory.

  7. Maybe RP was praised for his efforts and given new marching orders from Bernanke and company.

    1. EXACTLY!! Because Ron Paul has always been one to follow his marching orders to a T!

Seriously, what on God's green Earth would make you think that?!?!

    2. Maybe that's how the elites are able to co op anti-establishment groups by secretly getting their claws into them. It's all a show.

    3. Yeah. Clearly their goal was to have someone rail against the Fed and central banking and have prediction after prediction proven correct for three decades just to infiltrate groups that otherwise would not exist were it not for that political figure. Some pretty impressive planning!

    1. I'm going to assume this isn't a joke. No he is not a secret member of the Bilderberg Group.

    2. He's not a member, he is the leader!

  9. Just a Parley I think. Bernanke probably asked Paul to put him in a nice prison and not Guantanamo Bay when Paul becomes president and exposes his acts of treason.

Or maybe, just maybe, Bernanke is seeing the light and asking him how to fix this mess.

  10. I love Ron's comment: "sort of an open discussion". It speaks volumes. Ron is as transparent as they come. Shakey Ben obfuscates reflexively.
