White House Met with Taser Lobbyist over 30 Times

The military-industrial-education-taser complex is alive and well in D.C.

White House visitor logs are turning up s a “steady stream of lobbyists” visiting the Obama White House, reports the Washington Post.

Of particular note, AFL-CIO lobbyist Bill Samuel visited the White House over 50 times. Tim Hannegan, an informal adviser to Obama’s 2008 campaign, according to WaPo, whose clients include Comcast and Taser International has been to the WH over 30 times.

Hannegan was also the top lobbyist for a coalition of for-profit colleges, of note given that federal government student loans are fueling the student loan bubble.

What does it take to get into the WH and gain some influence? WaPo reports:
Andrew Menter, the chief executive of Vivature Health, said that [lobbyist Tom]Downey helped set up a meeting for him in December 2010 with Michael Hash, a top health-policy official. The group discussed how the new health-care law might affect Menter’s business, a Texas-based company that provides billing services for college health programs.

“The whole process was interesting for me. It’s a little scary,” Menter said. “You need a lobbyist to get a meeting.”
A WaPo interactive database that can be searched to find visitors is here. Please let me know if you spot any interesting visits

5:30 PM ...went to "watch a movie" a the white house. It would be interesting to see what movie they watched.

Of course Chertoff had to stop by the White House to try and sell some more "border security" services after the underwear bomber promotion last year.

  5. This is the "candidate" who said during his campaign for President that Lobbyists wouldn't play a role in his administration. You can't believe a thing that this man says. His lies are much more egregious than the ones the bleating liberals tried to pin on Bush. Trillions in debt, millions out of work, bankers getting pay increases, economy in the dumper..............hello? Oh! And, "I inherited this....". He's clueless!
