This Could Be a Big Problem for the Ron Paul Campaign

Adam Kokesh in a video titled "Top 10 reasons to get your mony back from Ron Paul Inc" explains to listeners why and how they should request their money back from the Ron Paul campaign.

Note: Kokesh at one point in the video states that it is not entirely clear whether those who donated can actually request their money back. Because of the late hour and the fact that Monday is a government holiday, the earliest that I will be able to reach the Federal Election Commission to ask about refunds is Tuesday.

Nevertheless, that this video is out there, (it was emailed to me by three different people)is a signal as to how Ron Paul's message has been pushed off track by those running the campaign and that donors are not happy.

Ron Paul is really much better off without handlers. He is very sound on the principles of liberty and now that the political campaign is over, let's hope he spends his time continuing to deliver the liberty message--without handlers!

  2. It's clear to me Kokesh suffers from some sort of mental instability.

    1. It could be from his experiences in Iraq.

    2. I think the fact that Kokesh is peacefully and openly rebelling against using violence in the Middle East is an awakening toward greater mental health. No, I don't think he is "mentally ill," which I believe to be an increasingly politicized term to put down dissent or unorthodox thinking.

It is an ominous power to be able to diagnose non-violent people of such a "disease," and then coerce them into captivity, and or use of dangerous pharmaceutical drugs. After all, there are many Iraq vets who willingly re-sign for duty, believing in what they are doing. I'm far more wary of people like that.

So when you say something like that, you better at least have something he's said as "proof" of your statement and cite it....because if you don't and it's not obvious you are the one that ends up looking unstable.

  3. eh,
I contributed in part just to get those bomb numbers up. I voted with my dollars, knowing the amounts would get air time and lend cred to the campaign.
It was darn well worth it. We gained millions of liberty converts in the two campaigns.

    1. I'm pretty much with you on that, but it will really piss me off if that money ends up in the hands of Jesse Benton, John Tate, and C4l.

    2. I suppose it does take money to pay for people to spread the message of liberty, but the Internet is very inexpensive to do the same thing.

The last time I sent any money to political candidates was in 1988, including Ron Paul, but not since then, and I don't regret it.

  4. I supported Ron Paul with my vote and voice at the caucus, but some of these people need to get real lives...

  5. If anyone suffers from mental instability it would have to be Ron Paul. One day after the RepubliCAN National Convention, Ron states that he does not fit in the Grand Old Party. Grandpa, that was obvious well over four years ago.

    1. Slingblade, er, Guiliani, is that you? Envious of Ron Paul's influence, eh? Aw, how cute. It's true, Ron has taught a lot of people, tens of thousands of young people about foreign policy, gold, sound money, the federal reserve, and liberty. Who do you teach, man-boy? Abusing your pet doesn't count.
If you prefer younger men, Slingblade, there's always Ryan.

    1. Even if it is "sour grapes", the question you have to ask yourself is whether you're entitled to try to fix your mistake or not.

Rest assured few people saw Benton's either incompetence or underhandedness(whichever it is) in advance and had they known they certainly would not have donated.(props to Justin Raimondo)

If they can get thier money back(but I'm hearing that they aren't refunding anyone's money-no surprise there) why should they?

Seriously, since when is someone not allowed to try to correct/fix their mistake?

Unless of course, you believe that money in Jesse Benton's hands is a good thing....

  7. I would want my money back. This left over funds would better used at EPJ, Lew Rockwell, Mises, or Tom Woods sites than the unemployable staff at C4L.

  8. I contributed some trifling amount early in the campaign (I think it was $25). I am not pleased with the direction that Benton directed the ship; it's deplorable that they didn't embrace Tom Woods et alii. Walter Block's article about his experience at the "official" Ron Paul rally was illuminating. I actually think the 2008 campaign did more for liberty than the 2012 iteration.

But I don't hold out any hope of ever seeing that money again. In a way I'm glad that Ron Paul is retiring so I can return to ignoring the entire apparatus.

  9. You mention handlers. There must have been quite a few--Jesse Benton, Tate, and Weadon, who's been involved in 7 different campaigns. Surprised that I've heard hardly any criticism on Doug Weadon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=wbrUPtwIKuk#t=1082s

    1. Peter Schiff reads a very telling text message from Jesse Benton regarding the Ron Paul Festival.

"This is what I got from Jesse - you have got to reconsider Paul Fest thing is bad news - why aren't you guys involved I wrote them - bad people organizing it big fringe element we are hoping the event goes away"

  10. I guess working for Fox News and getting paid to call the Ron Camp a bunch of sellouts is nice work if you can get it.

  11. My boyfriend has lost a lot of respect for the Paul's and their weird Neoconish blogger and campaign management,(even though he would rather have Ron Paul as a Presidential nominee in any party, he still says, especially after the shabby treatment Ron Paul's 9-11 skeptics, and Alex Jones received, RON PAUL REVOLUTION...GIVE ME BACK MY CONTRIBUTION.

  12. guys,

I donated money during his campaign in 2008. Could i get that money back since the money he did not use then was shifted into the 2012 campaign....I think.
